Mini workshops

We hold our monthly meetings generally on the third Sunday of each month at Lake Cathie Hall. (map in location page)  Starting at 1pm and finishing around 3pm.  We get together for a mini workshop run by one of our members and catch up on our cakey news plus anything club related to pass on.  Usually at the end of this session we gather for a cuppa and cake, which our members provide.  We do ask our members, where possible , to help with setting up and clearing away if they can, not a big job but we are a members run club not a public business.

We give details out on Facebook and here as to what we will be making in advance and also a list of equipment you will need if you have them.  Don't worry if you don't have any equipment as everything is provided for the workshop including materials.  All we ask is you provide a box to take your work home in when necessary.  Our workshops are very informal and can get quite chatty as we are a members group and its not a strict class setting.

If you would also like to have a go at teaching us some of your skills we do encourage you to have fun and take a class.

Our full /half day workshops are a little more formal as people are wishing and paying to learn more specific skills and this is respected.

We are open to all interested parties both skilled and complete beginners and as such the pace of the workshop has to meet the requirements of both.  We may hold more advanced workshops at a later date.

Joining our community you will meet lots of people with the same interests.  We also visit other clubs on the mid north coast on their open days.  Kempsey and Coffs Harbour are well worth a visit and hold demonstration days annually which are great fun with visiting demonstrators, prizes, and lunch included.  They really are a great day out.

Longer Workshops

We try and hold full day workshops around twice a year which can cover anything from covering a cake to sugar modelling.  Half day workshops will cover our ever popular buttercream classes with Claire - our President.  These workshops, as previously stated, do cost a little more depending on what we are making and materials that need to be purchased.
